I’m sure you’ve heard that you should avoid “ordinary boring conversational topics” when flirting. Experts will tell you that it’s a sure way to make the girl yawn. And that’s no way to get her to remember you after you leave.

I disagree. I think it’s weird if you don’t mix some “ordinary” questions in when you’re getting to know a girl. Sure, you need to have high energy, and hit some emotional high points. But you also need some ordinary “getting to know you” talk.

Which “typical” questions are at issue here?

How do you make your money?

Are you in school?

Do you have kids?

How long have you lived here?

While it is possible to bore a girl to tears if you constantly barrage her with an inquisition, that doesn’t mean you can’t ask some of these questions.

Here’s the key principle:

TYPICAL QUESTION FLIRTING FORMULA: after she responds to your “typical question”, be ready to be PLAYFUL with her answer.

When I meet a new woman whom I’m attracted to, I often ask her about her occupation or field of study.

But after I get a response from her, I get playful with her response.

It goes something like this:

If she says she’s studying radiology, I’ll say “Oh, good, so if I were to break my leg right now, you’d totally help me out. You probably have X-ray equipment right in your backpack, right?”

She laughs. She feels like you value her for something other than her looks. And you frame the interaction as one of her being ready to SERVE you in some way.

Don’t worry about every guy using this line after reading this article either. Women never get tired of this kind of playful role-playing.

Give it a shot the next time you talk with a woman. Use it even on women you’re not attracted to - just to get the practice in.
