Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: A kid’s musical in regards to a flying automobile is one wacky journey, with entirely forgettable score and some of the shoddiest visual effects ever. The Good Shepherd: Clutching tale of a spiritually censored youthful guy who is enlisted at Yale to do espionage work throughout WW2 and then to join the secret intelligence agency that would eventually become the CIA, even though it means an astronomical sacrifice to his family life. Damon is phenomenal and a well selected cast fills all the roles very well. Cast includes Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, Alec Baldwin, Tammy Blanchard, Billy Crudup, Robert De Niro, and John Turturro. The Jackie Robinson Story: Simple bio of Robinson, the first black man to play Major League Baseball. Captivating as a historical story; pointed in its presentation of the racial issues engaged. Interestingly, Robinson’s Negro League ball club is named the Black Panthers! Dee plays Robinson’s spouse. The movie is depicted by Brock Peters. Cast includes Jackie Robinson, Red Dee, Little Watson, Louise Beavers, Richard Aisle, Harry Shannon, Ben Lessy, and Joel Fuellen. (76 minutes,’50)

Shades of Fear: Flat, disheartening drama in reference to a youthful female Ayola who yearns to become a guide and the assorted characters that crosses her road as she cruises for England. The British version helped make it better. Cast includes Rakie Ayola, John Hurt, Jonathan Pryce, Vanessa Redgrave, and Dorothy Tutin. (92 minutes,’93)

Bed Book and Candle: A John Van Druten play turns into so-so platform to showcase Novak as a sorceress who charms soon to be married Manhattan publisher Stewart. Kovacs and Gingold show off their comedic capabilities. Cast includes James Stewart, Kim Novak, Jack Lemmon, Janice Rule, Ernie Kovacs, Hermione Gingold, and Elsa Lanchester. (103 minutes,’58)

Agnes of God: A youthful nun evidently became pregnant, then killed the baby in the cloistered environment of a convent. The court assigned psychiatrist finds no simple answers. Upsetting, not unconditionally pleasing, although electrified by 3 brilliant performances, and beautifully photographed by Sven Nykvist. Cast includes Jane Fonda, Anne Bancroft, Meg Tilly, Anne Pitoniak, Winston Reckert, and Gratien Gelinas. (98 minutes,’85)
